School Board President Academy -
TBA

Effective board leadership is critical to the success of any public school district.  In consideration of the extenuating circumstances caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, board leadership must now figure out how to manage the new conditions on the ground.  This second in a series of one-hour seminars provides individuals in or preparing to be in the role of board president how to assess conditions, engage in productive discussions with your superintendent and cabinet and help bridge any gaps between community and district.  Dr. Brian K. Perkins has been a student of organizational leadership for close to three decades.  He has over 20 years combined experience as a school board president, national urban school board chair, national school board caucus president and city charter commissioner.  He has to his credit vast organizational restructuring experience and served as school board president leading over one billion dollars ($1B) in school construction projects.  Dr. Perkins is a highly trained executive coach with credentials from the Columbia Business School CCP.  Participants will walk away with a new set of skills for their board facilitation toolbox.
